Knife Care Guide

Follow these tips to maintain your knives and extend their lifespan. Our knives are designed with durability in mind, and our recommendations will allow it to extend as a cherished kitchen heirloom.

Handwash and Dry

Using a soft sponge is highly recommended to reduce the scratches on the blade. Even though our knives are stainless steel, it is recommended to maintain the steel's integrity by drying it with a towel after use.

Maintaining Sharpness

Routine Sharpening

Similar to brushing our teeth, honing the blade edge is a daily must. This can be accomplished with a leather strop or a honing rod, greatly prolonging the sharpness of the edge.

Edge Revamp

When those tools don't become as effective, using a whetstone becomes essential for achieving ideal sharpness. The frequency varies based on the knife's usage, typically once or twice a year, similar to scheduling a dentist appointment or servicing your car.

Knife Usage Recommendations

Don't Drag the Edge

Refrain from dragging the cutting edge laterally on the board, instead use the spine of the knife or a scraper. Following this promotes longer edge sharpness.

Safekeeping

Store the knife in a specific location to ensure its edge is isolated from other items, which also reduces the potential for injury when handling it.

Regular maintenance and adhering to best practices is the simplest way to keep your knives looking and cutting as good as new.
